If you found EmbermontBot in your server logs, this page explains who we are, why we visited, and how to stop us.

What it does

Embermont Concierge is a chat assistant that businesses add to their own website. When someone signs up and asks us to answer questions about their site, our crawler reads that site's public pages so the assistant can answer accurately. We only crawl a site because someone asked us to — we do not index the web, we do not resell content, and we do not train a shared model on it.

How to identify it

User-Agent: EmbermontBot/1.0 (+https://embermont.co.uk/bot)

How it behaves

It reads and obeys robots.txt, including Crawl-delay.
It waits between requests rather than fetching pages back to back.
It stops at a page limit — it will not walk an entire large site.
It requests pages only. It does not submit forms, log in, or follow links behind authentication.
It identifies itself honestly and does not pretend to be a browser.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt and we will stop on the next crawl:

User-agent: EmbermontBot
Disallow: /

To allow most of your site but keep some of it private:

User-agent: EmbermontBot
Disallow: /members/
Disallow: /admin/

Think it visited without permission?
